Green Shelter — a foster shelter for evacuated and abandoned dogs
Green Shelter is a temporary shelter and an initiative that finds homes for dogs who lost theirs because of the war — and for those who, for other reasons, ended up on the street and needed help. Today more than 25 dogs live in our small shelter in Yavoriv, near the Ukrainian–Polish border, waiting for their chance.
We are the official NGO “Zelenyi Prytulok” (Green Shelter), run by volunteers and your support. Our work began in July 2022 with preparing the grounds. The first dogs arrived in June 2023 after the Kakhovka dam was destroyed. For a fourth year now, we care for dogs and place them in homes across Ukraine and abroad.
